Sign-ups for the Africa and Middle East qualifiers of the $1,500,000 World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) are open. The first stage of the Africa and Middle East qualifiers for WESG will be split into four regions: Turkey (also including Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan), North and West Africa, South and East Africa, and Middle East. Each region will have their own single-elimination qualifier played from August 13-14, each of which will hand out two spots at the regional finals taking place in Dubai from August 26-28.
The regional finals will have $75,000 on offer as well as three spots at the $1,500,000, 24-team WESG Global Grand Finals, set to be played in December. Teams interested in participating in the online qualifiers can register until August 12 here. Some of the notable teams already registered include HWA and DarkPassage in the Turkish qualifier and Bravado in the South & East Africa qualifier.
